DGI reiterates to taxpayers that the validity of the Tax Amnesty is until August 31

DGI reiterates to taxpayers that the validity of the Tax Amnesty is until August 31

The DGI assured that during these days it will be focusing all its face-to-face services on this action.

The General Directorate of Income (DGI) of the Ministry of Economy and Finance of Panama (MEF), reminded taxpayers this afternoon that Thursday 26, Friday 27, Monday 30 and Tuesday 31 August, are the last days of validity of the Tax Amnesty.

Given this, the DGI will be focusing all its face-to-face services on this action, and they point out that any other procedure that they wish to carry out or consult is notified to them, they must be managed online through the web dgi.mef.gob.pa or through the e-Tax 2.0 platform.

Previously, the DGI explained that those who avail themselves of the Tax Amnesty before August 31, the law forgives them 85% in surcharges, interests and fines of taxes generated before January 31, 2021 and that for it to be effective, the taxpayer must pay the nominal amount of the tax and 15% of the surcharges, interest and penalties.

In addition, the entity pointed out that based on the tax fines specifically indicated in the law, 75% is forgiven without the need for foster care, with only paying 25% of the fine generated and charged in the e-Tax 2.0 system.

The DGI explained to taxpayers that they can request a payment arrangement until August 31, 2021, and in turn all the arrangements made during this Tax Amnesty period will have a deadline to cancel the balance until December 31, 2021.

The tax administration's business hours are from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm.
