Citizens of Panama who have their complete vaccination scheme and the certificate issued by the Government Innovation Authority (AIG) may present it to travel to the member countries of the European Union, and it will be recognized as equivalent.
This measure, which makes Panama the first country in the region to have a
COVID-19 digital certificate approved by the European Union, came after a meticulous review process of the characteristics of Panama's digital vaccination certificate.
The certificate may be used in the 27 member states of the European Union. Likewise, Panama will proceed with the recognition of the vaccination certificate issued by the European Union and its member countries.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Relations, it is a joint effort of the Foreign Ministry, the AIG and the team of the Ministry of Health (
Minsa), which seeks to "guarantee the mobility and safe travel of citizens."
"We are the first country in the region to have this endorsement, allowing our citizens and residents vaccinated, with two doses, to have the peace of mind of resuming their trips to Europe with the facilities offered by technology ... Once again, our country shows his leadership, through the recognition of digitization, ”said Chancellor
