Minister Sucre says that lifting the state of emergency due to the pandemic is being evaluated

Through Cabinet Resolution No. 11 of March 13, 2020, a state of national emergency was declared due to the pandemic.
The Minister of Health of Panama, Luis Sucre said that lifting the national state of emergency due to the covid-19 pandemic in the country is being evaluated.

"That is an issue that has already been considered with the president (Laurentino Cortizo), it will even have to be discussed with a whole team, however, I do not see this state of emergency for many days ... I do not want to anticipate possibly one or two more months, that will be decided by the president with a whole team," said Luis Sucre.

He indicated that the decision will be based on statistics and scientific information.

“Let us remember that we have not come out of the pandemic, anything can happen, as many countries with a more robust health system than we have had setbacks regarding the pandemic. What we are trying to be cautious about, but thank God everything indicates that the state of emergency will be able to be lifted,” he said.

The Executive declared in March 2020, through Cabinet Resolution No. 11 of March 13, 2020 , the national state of emergency, as a result of the effects generated by covid-19.

Through the resolution, the contracting is authorized through a special procurement procedure for the execution of the works and the acquisition of goods and services that are required.
