Panama will apply anticovid booster doses starting this Wednesday

Eyra Ruiz explained that people who were vaccinated with Pfizer and AstraZeneca will receive their booster dose with the Pfizer formula.
The head of the Ministry of Health of Panama (Minsa), Luis Sucre, announced that starting this Wednesday, October 13, the application of the booster dose against COVID-19 will begin.

The Minister Counselor of Health, Eyra Ruiz, explained that it will begin with the application of booster doses to health personnel, adults from 55 years of age, bedridden patients, people in nursing homes and homes, as well as essential groups.

She explained that both people who were vaccinated with Pfizer and those who were vaccinated with AstraZeneca will receive their booster dose with the Pfizer formula.

“This booster dose was approved for people between 18 and 54 years of age who are in high-risk occupations, that is, health workers, airport personnel, port personnel, Panama Canal personnel attending to ships, in addition, people with chronic diseases, all of these six months after their second dose was applied,” said Ruiz.

People who are going to take this booster dose should bring their vaccination card.

Ruiz indicated that the following order has been established for the application of the reinforcement doses:

- As of Wednesday, October 13: Public and private health workers and Joint Task Force, at their work sites.

- As of Monday, October 18: Asylums and homes, in these same places.

- From October 20 to 24: On circuit 8-6, San Miguelito district, at the Santiago de la Guardia Basic Education Center; Pedro J. Ameglio School; Carlos A. Mendoza School; and José Domingo Espinar School.

Could someone kindly explain to me why the debate is still on-going between pro- and anti-vaccine? I must be missing some key point, but to me it seems that if the vaccines work, the pro-vaccine side should not care if other people are not vaccinated, and vice versa, if the vaccines are dangerous and deadly, why the anti-vaccine people care, since they are safe. I don't get it.
