Establece alerta amarilla en Chiriquí

Sinaproc establishes a yellow alert in Chiriquí and urges the population to remain calm

The director of the National Civil Protection System of Panama (Sinaproc), Carlos Rumbo, reported this Wednesday that the decision has been made to establish a yellow alert in the province of Chiriquí, where multiple damages have been registered as a result of the heavy rains.
He adds that Sinaproc is reinforcing the presence of officials and volunteers in the areas that have been affected and in vulnerable areas.

At the same time, Rumbo calls on the population of this region of the country to remain calm.

On the other hand, the Ministry of Public Works (MOP) announced that they are still working at the national level and carrying out an exhaustive survey of the effects caused by the weather conditions caused by hurricane ETA .

They also keep monitoring the different affected areas in the provinces of Coclé, Veraguas, Chiriquí, the Ngäbe Buglé Comarca and the areas in the country that have not been affected, and are in constant coordination with the security forces and other institutions, to clear the isolated roads in order to provide a safe road network for Panamanians.

The MOP adds that there are locations of institutional and private teams available, which will be deployed once the weather conditions improve.

The MOP asks the population to avoid traveling near the affected areas, in order not to compromise personal safety and avoid greater material or human losses.
