Estamentos han decomisado B/.150 millones en drogas en lo que va de 2020

1.2 tons of illegal drugs worth $150 million seized so far in 2020

So far in 2020, the security forces have seized drug shipments that exceed 1.2 tons, valued at more than 150 million, reported the Ministry of Security (Minsag) of Panama.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the anti-narcotics operations carried out in the Atlantic and Pacific areas of the country have allowed the interception of speedboats, artisan boats and surface coves.

The seizures took place between 6:00 pm and 6:00 am and the authorities have identified Wednesdays, Wednesdays and Sundays as those used by drug traffickers to transport illicit substances.

The entity also indicated that it has contributed to the delivery of aid to difficult-to-access communities located in border areas, affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

On the other hand, the Minseg clarified that it has not hired new personnel during the pandemic, and the list that appears on the website corresponds to the renewal of contracts of officials who have worked in the entity since 2019.
