5 de cada 10 panameños se han adaptado a las restricciones por pandemia

5 out of 10 Panamanians have adapted to pandemic restrictions

A survey conducted by Ipsos Central America revealed that 5 out of 10 Panamanians have adapted to the restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
However, 30% keep reacting day by day to restrictions and establishing new routines.

Adolfo Gafoglio, manager of Ipsos, explained that they identify 8 stages through which the pandemic passes.

1. Incredibility
2. Preparation
3. Adjustment
4. Becoming accustomed to new environment

Panama has been stage 4 for many months now.

Gafoglio said that Panamanians have not advanced to stage 5 of the new normal, in which they begin to perceive that the restrictions are eased.

While 58% of those interviewed are concerned about the immediate future, mostly over 41 years of age.

That is another peculiarity after almost 5 months the priorities have changed, and within the priorities one of the behaviors that we find is the period of time of concern; we are no longer worried about what is going to happen in a year or two years, but in what is going to happen tomorrow or next week, he said.

Meanwhile, 4 out of 10 Panamanians show signs of exhaustion in relation to the restrictions.
