La fase de vacunación en los docentes es esencial para un retorno seguro a las aulas.

65,000 teachers from the government and private sector will be vaccinated against COVID-19

Approximately 65,000 teachers from official and private schools, including those from the Panamanian Institute for Special Habilitation (IPHE) and the non-regular system of youth and adults, will be vaccinated against COVID-19, as reported by the Minister of Education, Maruja Gorday from Villalobos.
In the list we are including all teachers. We also know that there are 25% of teachers over 60 years of age or have some comorbidity (chronic diseases), that vaccines will start on Wednesday and that we are generating data processes, since if I have three 60-year-old teachers in a school and the reinforcement (second dose) is placed, we will begin the safe return to the classrooms, said the head of Meduca.

She indicated that this weekend and the next will evaluate the behavior of the pandemic and the social, in addition, of the phases and biosafety protocols with the accompaniment of the authorities of the Ministry of Health.

"We are closer to getting the vaccine, they have notified me to prepare for the first, second or third week of April," said Gorday de Villalobos.

She expressed that since Monday more than 300 teachers are getting swabs to go to the coordinators to deliver materials and design coupling strategies, Meduca is working with the security forces in the accompanying guides.

The head of education said that 80% of the schools in the province of Darien are open, but if the children do not go to school, they do not receive the guides.
