A United flight attendant is taken to the hospital after a 'disturbance' involving a passenger with a child seen screaming in a video on flight to Chicago

The Chicago Police Department told Insider officers responded to reports of "a disturbance that had occurred on a plane" at 6:02 a.m. this morning.
A United flight attendant was taken to the hospital upon arriving in Chicago Sunday morning after an altercation with an unruly passenger.

The Chicago Police Department told Insider officers responded at a gate in Chicago O'Hare International Airport to reports of "a disturbance that had occurred on a plane" at 6:02 a.m.

According to a CPD spokesperson, "three occupants of the plane were transported to Resurrection Hospital for observation," adding that both the department and the FBI are currently investigating.

In a video shared by passenger Peter Kondelis, a woman on the plane appears to be screaming while standing in the aisle holding a young child. As multiple flight attendants attempt to subdue her, one says "Ma'am, we are landing," while the altercation, which is obscured in the video, ensues in the aisle.

"Sarah, step back, fall back, Sarah" an unidentified voice warns before the video ends. It is unclear who they are addressing.

United further confirmed the incident in a statement to Insider, noting that there were no serious injuries.

"A disruptive customer on a flight from San Francisco to Chicago was removed by law enforcement upon landing on Sunday, and one member of the flight attendant crew was taken to a hospital for evaluation," the spokesperson said. "We're grateful to our crew for handling this difficult situation with professionalism and for putting the safety of our team and our customers first."

According to Twitter account @WindyCityWxMan, which shares real-time police scanner alerts, three ambulances were specifically requested for the flight attendant, the passenger, and the passenger's child.
