Brazil's Supreme Court has mandated the suspension of the U.S.-based video-sharing service Rumble within the country due to its noncompliance with court directives.

Justice Alexandre de Moraes enacted the suspension after Rumble declined to deactivate the account of Brazilian influencer Allan dos Santos, who is currently being investigated for purported hate speech and the dissemination of false information.

The suspension will remain in place until Rumble designates a legal representative in Brazil and complies with other court orders, including settling outstanding fines.

In retaliation, Rumble and Trump Media & Technology Group have initiated a lawsuit in a U.S. federal court against Justice de Moraes, claiming infringements of free speech rights under the First Amendment.

This legal dispute underscores the ongoing friction between Brazil's judicial system and social media companies regarding content governance and adherence to local regulations.
