CCIAP insists on a balance between sanitary measures and policies of economic opening

In its Sunday statement La Cámara Opina, the Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture of Panama (CCIAP) insisted on the need for a balance between sanitary measures and economic opening policies, to maintain jobs in the face of the crisis generated by the pandemic of the COVID-19.
In the opinion of the business union, the crisis has led citizens to dedicate themselves to informal activities, which makes it difficult to comply with health measures, in that sense the CCIAP suggests that the recovery of formal measures will allow greater control.

The members of the CCIAP and the private sector in general are ready to act in compliance with the biosafety protocols, and contributing with the presentation of proposals that lead to an orderly and responsible economic reactivation. The time has come to open reasonable precautionary measures that each employer, each worker, each citizen will have to adopt, said the CCIAP.

The statement reiterated that opening has to be removed from the bureaucratic tangle.

On August 17, some economic activities such as beauty salons and barber shops, the sale of vehicles and the retail stores reopened.

As of August 24, the real estate offices, appraisals and wholesale distributors of non-food products will reopen.
