Cortizo requests support from US to buy fans and supplies

The President of the Republic of Panama, Laurentino Cortizo, asked the US President Donald Trump, support with fans, PCR tests and serological tests, to confront COVID-19 in the country.
The President of the Republic, Laurentino Cortizo , held a telephone conversation with US President Donal Trump on Saturday and the occasion was used by Panama to ask him for support in the acquisition of fans, and other supplies, to face the effects of the coronavirus .

"I just received a cordial call from President Donald Trump to exchange ideas about COVID-19, an enemy that is attacking our countries and our people. As a friend and ally, he offered us help," the president said on his Twitter account.

According to President Cortizo, the teams of both governments will be coordinating, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the request for cooperation made to President Trump.

Trump stressed that the administration of the Panama Canal in Panama is an integral part of the global economy during the pandemic and thanked Cortizo for the "continued support of his administration for a democratic transition in Venezuela."

The United States is the country most affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, accumulating more than 1.3 million confirmed cases and the northern nation registers 78 thousand 647 deaths.
