Democratic Change Party fined $25,000 for unpaid debt of over $400,000 to the CSS

Democratic Change Party fined $25,000 for unpaid debt of over $400,000 to the CSS

The Democratic Change (CD) party's debt to the CSS is $422,596.56 due to omissions of Social Security quota.
A sanction of $25,000 "for non-affiliation by the employer and simulation of a legal act from January 2010 to October 2015", was imposed on the Democratic Change party (CD), which has a debt of $422,596.56 with the Caja de Social Security (CSS).

In this regard, the deputy Ábrego demanded that the director of the CSS, Enrique Lau, exhaust all legal remedies, so that the group, of which she is a part, makes the amount owed. "I do not understand with what morality the party leaders sit at a dialogue table to discuss what, when they have not even had the ability to pay the CSS," said the official.

“On behalf of the majority CD bench, we do not agree with what is happening in the current leadership of the party and now that the magistrates of the Electoral Tribunal are coming, I will call them on this issue. This is shameful, that we are in default today with $422,596.56 to Social Security. A party that has $13 million in subsidies, and that has not been able to agree to make a payment arrangement, is unacceptable," he added.

For its part, the directive of the CD party, which at the moment has obvious divisions, described as "irresponsible, insulting and unfortunate" the comments of the deputy Ábrego, and affirms that "for political reasons", Ábrego lies and tries to hold responsible to the current Board of Directors, of which she is a member.

However, the deputy says that she does not even find out what is happening in the party "because she has been kidnapped by a group of directors and the current president to do whatever he wants."

On the issue of debt, CD indicated that the institution carried out an audit that was notified to the party in February 2016, and in which it was determined that in the period 2010-2015, during the leadership of Ricardo Martinelli, there were alleged omissions Social Security fee in the payment of professional services.

According to the collective, during this administration, an evaluation of the administrative process was carried out and procedural aspects that merited clarification were observed, such as the imposition of double sanctions, as well as violations of due process in the issuance of the Administrative Act, which was responsibly appealed to the Supreme Court of Justice, for its review and evaluation of compliance with the rule of law.

"In the event that the ruling is final and definitive, the Democratic Change party will be held responsible, regardless of whether the scope is generated by acts or omissions that occurred in the period 2010 - 2015," stated the current Board of Directors.

They urged Deputy Ábrego to investigate and consult before making judgments to "avoid distorting the reality of the facts."
