Director of the CSS considers requesting support from the ILO to assess the actuarial situation

The director of the CSS Enrique Lau confirmed that, together with the Minister of Labor and Labor Development Doris Zapata, he has been in communication with the ILO.
The director of the Social Security Fund ( CSS ), Enrique Lau said that he considers requesting the International Labor Organization ( ILO ) support in the dialogue carried out by this institution, specifically on the issue of evaluating actuarial studies of the pension fund financial situation.

Lau confirmed that, together with the Minister of Labor and Labor Development, Doris Zapata, he has been in communication with the ILO.

"We agree that the dialogue be handled with the cards face up, that means that if there are some sectors that want a little more evidence we are not against it," said the director of the CSS during a visit to the covid-19 vaccination center located in Westland Mall.

The Council of Organized Workers (Conato), which ratified its decision to withdraw from the dialogue table, and other unions have demanded the temporary suspension for the development of the study of the financial situation of the CSS by technical staff of the ILO.

The CSS reported that the thematic table on Disability, Old Age and Death (IVM) of the dialogue has also requested that an independent actuarial commission be appointed to prepare and present an updated study.

Recently, the National Assembly (AN) approved a resolution in which it urged the National Government and the Board of Directors of the CSS to rethink the dialogue and form a table in which the representative organizations of the workers and the Government participate under the coordination of the ILO.

The proposal was rejected by the dialogue table.
