The PAI is in charge of the reception and distribution of the vaccines that arrive in Panama.
The coordinator of the Expanded Program on Immunization (PAI), Itzel de Hewitt, appeared this Friday, June 11, before the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office of the Public Ministry, after the opening of the investigation of the clandestine vaccination case.
De Hewitt, who arrived after 10:30 a.m., left the Prosecutor's Office around 4:30 p.m.
Neither upon his arrival nor upon his departure did he give statements to the media, however when asked if he considered that his management was being tarnished, he nodded slightly and left.
This is related to the investigation that takes place after the journalist Flor Mizrachi denounced the realization of a private vaccination in a building located in Coco del Mar, in which at least 17 people participated. The Minister of Health of Panama, Luis Francisco
Sucre, filed a criminal complaint in this case.
Sucre also requested a report from the PAI of all the
vaccines that the country has received and the empty vials that have had to be returned.
The PAI is in charge of receiving and distributing for its application, the vials of the different
vaccines that arrive in Panama to mitigate the spread of diseases as well as the serious development of health conditions.
