Entrepreneurs focus on promoting and accelerating job recovery in Panama

The CCIAP Board of Directors has initiated an approach with sector unions in search of reaching consensus on comprehensive initiatives in the short term.
The new Board of Directors of the Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture of Panama (CCIAP), have begun a process of promotion and acceleration of the recovery of jobs.

For this, workers, employers and the government must work together, in such a way that they channel their energies towards “the design and execution of policies and initiatives, both concrete and measurable, aimed at finding a sustainable solution to the health and socioeconomic crisis in which is the country”.

According to the CCIAP in its Sunday statement La Cámara Opina, to fulfill this unique task, the Board of Directors of the union has initiated a process of rapprochement with the main sector unions, the Federation of Chambers of Commerce of Panama (Fedecamaras) and the Fundación del Trabajo, in order to strengthen trust, understanding the needs and differences of criteria, with the aim of achieving consensus on comprehensive initiatives in the short term.

"This is the first step in the search for solutions that provide hope to people who are unemployed, with suspended contracts or who have been forced to move to the informal sector," said José Ramón Icaza - CCIAP President.

In addition, the business union reaffirms its conviction in the role to be performed by the Specialized Higher Technical Institute (ITSE) and insists on quality technical education, with a focus on soft skills and technological training. Like, dual education where the academy and the company work together to learn by doing.

"Operability, policies in accordance with the national reality, security, transparency, organization, synergy, unity and joint work, are just some of the characteristics that will help reduce the complexities to outline the strategy to be executed by Panama", reaffirmed Ramón Icaza.
