Ethics and transparency courses will be mandatory for officials

Ethics and transparency courses will be mandatory for officials

The measure is aimed at all public servants in the country, who will have a period of 120 days to take the courses.
The National Authority for Transparency and Access to Information (Antai) issued resolution No. 04-2121 that establishes as mandatory to take the courses of the Virtual Academy of Ethics and Transparency for all public servants in the country.

All officials must take and approve, within a period of 120 days (2 months), counted from the promulgation of this resolution (August 20, 2021), the Virtual Academy courses.

To take the courses, public servants must enter the website of the Academy, and register.

This measure arises with the intention of "strengthening the interoperability of the Government, the improvement and innovation of public services and promoting a culture of ethics in the country."

According to the resolution, the Academy is an “effective instrument for the application of preventive measures within the institutional system”, which is why it is mandatory for all the servants of the entities, agencies or dependencies of the State, belonging to the Executive Branch, Legislative and Judicial.

The measure also includes officials from decentralized, autonomous, semi-autonomous entities, municipalities, local governments, communal boards and mixed capital companies.

The Virtual Academy of Ethics and Transparency was inaugurated on December 9, 2020, just on the International Day against Corruption, with the purpose of strengthening human resources in public management through interactive courses on open government issues, data personal data, open data, access to information and current regulations.
