Government analyzes private sector proposals for economic reactivation

The 47 proposals submitted by the private sector for economic reactivation make them executable in the short and medium term and are subject to measurement.
The head of the Ministry of Commerce and Industries of Panama (MICI), Ramón Martínez, reported this Thursday that they are already analyzing the 47 proposals that the private sector submitted for the economic reactivation of the country.

He reiterated that many of the proposals have to do with the 22 (actions) proposed in the Economic Recovery Plan, and what they want to give is speed to them, obviously we are on the right track. The pandemic basically in 5% of effectiveness gives us the possibility to reactivate more businesses.

Martínez indicated that they are forming a High Level Commission with the presidents of the main private sector unions, headed by the National Council of Private Enterprise (CoNEP), to facilitate and provide support, support, analysis, evaluation, implementation and monitoring of the proposals.

Regarding the proposals to consider, the MICI minister said that although the first meeting has not taken place, he is "repairing the neighborhoods of the townships, which was already in the Government's plan and that they basically propose that it be held in other townships."

The special commission of the private sector presented a portfolio of 47 proposals (16 transversal that affect other sectors and 31 that affect various sectors, such as energy, industries, finance, construction, agriculture and tourism, among others).

The global investment amount of the CoNEP proposals amounts to B / .4 billion, with a generation of 140 thousand direct jobs and 68 thousand indirect ones.

The MICI in past statements stated that some of the proposals presented will require the government to act in its role as facilitator of private and local investment and others, of coordination between the public and private sectors.

The elements that characterize the proposals make them executable in the short and medium term and are subject to measurement.
