Government has dates for new openings of economic activities; more mobility allowed

The Vice Minister of Commerce, Omar Montilla, announced that the Government will make important announcements this coming Tuesday about the new openings of economic activities as part of the measures of the new normal in the midst of the new coronavirus pandemic.
At the same time, Montilla reported that it is being evaluated to allow mobility without restriction by gender and that people can enter shops, as is currently done in supermarkets.

As of the date, women can go out on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, without the restriction of a schedule that was tied to the last ID number, while men on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

Tomorrow important announcements will be made by the Ministry of Health. However, we have requested at the economic table that shopping centers and warehouses can be entered, depending on the capacity that each one has so that in this way they can not only collect the merchandise at the door. Likewise, we are going to make the issue of men and women more flexible, Montilla said in an interview on TVN Noticias.

The official also said that certain opening dates will be announced so that the companies that are going to be reactivated can prepare.

In addition, the reopening of construction and restaurants is being evaluated.

Those dates that will be announced are conditioned on the people maintaining discipline and that the Rt increase does not skyrocket because in the end what we have to understand is a health aspect that the Government must protect, said Montilla.

He also said that a request was made to the economic table, which is being evaluated, about the safe-conducts, since with these reactivations this issue of the permits to circulate will be uncontrollable, and that they analyze how only the safe-conducts for the industries are in force whose staff work 24 hours, due to the curfew that applies from 7 at night to 5 in the morning.

Last Monday, August 17, the beauty salons and barbershops began to operate, by appointment, with screens between each cubicle and without exceeding 50% of the capacity of the premises. So did the retail trade, as part of the gradual return to business.
