Israeli Shy Dahan, who escaped from La Joyita, was found dead in a jail in Ecuador

The Israeli Shy Dahan, who escaped from the La Joyita penitentiary (Panama) in June 2018 and who this year had been captured in Ecuador, was found dead in a prison in that he was being held.
Ecuadorian media reported that the body was found at dawn this Saturday, August 8, inside the coastal penitentiary, in the province of Guayas.

The Israeli, who had been arrested at the beginning of last June, was in a cell of the pavilion known as Consular, reported El Comercio .

Shy Dahan was in an Ecuadorian prison for the alleged scam in the sale of medical supplies such as the sale of masks and rapid detection tests for Covid-19 under a false identity.

Dahan had been extradited from Spain to Panama in March 2018 for a fraud case of more than half a million dollars, for which he was being detained in La Joyita, until his escape in June of that same year.

In the case of medical supplies, Israeli Oren Sheinman had also been arrested, along with Dahan.

Sheinman's attorney, Héctor Gabriel Vanegas, confirmed that his client was injured. In a Twitter message he said that both foreigners suffered "an attack."

On June 2, the day they were both arrested, they were found with about $100,000. Then, when his house was searched in the city of Santa Elena, another $200,000 and three high-end vehicles were found, the Ecuadorian press reported.

The foreigners carried adulterated documentation to impersonate the country as members and representatives of the DEA, according to the Ecuadorian press.

In the testimonies of Dahan and Sheinman, which are part of a legal process, they allegedly indicated having sold medical supplies to Jacobo Bucaram, who is being investigated, along with his brothers Michel and Abdalá, for allegedly selling drugs illegally during the emergency. Both of them are children of former Ecuadorian president Abdalá Bucaram.

Today they assassinated an Israeli who tried to go against my son Jacobo [...] they will surely want to murder my children, we are defenseless ... we are experiencing state terrorism, was Bucaram's reaction published on social networks after learning of this event.
