Meduca prepares for a face-to-face return to Schools in 2022

This Meduca measure is given considering that it is expected to have 80% of the population vaccinated against COVID-19 and the country's educational centers adapted.
"We are planning for a face-to-face return," the Minister of Education ( Meduca ), Maruja Gorday de Villalobos, responded to when questioning how classes would be next year.

The minister explained that the next school year is expected to begin in this way, given that it is expected to have more than 80% of the population vaccinated against COVID-19, as well as the educational centers adapted to biosafety measures.

According to Gorday de Villalobos, no contagions have been generated in the schools where classes are held through blendedness, however he stressed that other more advanced countries have given infections, there is a pause and it is resumed.

To avoid outbreaks, work is being done on a gradual and progressive return, he indicated.

Regarding the health committees, he explained that there are two structures: the regional one that includes the regional directorates of education and health, and the school committees made up of the educational community.

He explained that a link has been designed on the Meduca website to see the process.

of the 354 educational centers that have a traffic light where you can observe those that have the school committee, those that were able to advance with their educational plan, and those that have implemented their protocol.

“Most are in yellow, but schools may be open generating the processes. The return plan is unique in each school, and will be conditional on the consent of the parent ”, he added.

According to the head of Meduca, there are many requests from schools that already want to start blended or in person in the third quarter. "We are aiming for maybe 70% of open schools by the last months of the year," he added.
