MiAmbiente warns of an increase in wildlife rescue cases

MiAmbiente urged citizens to make reports for the rescue of species to line 311, social networks and through the web chat of its website.
The Metropolitan Regional Directorate of the Ministry of the Environment ( MiAmbiente ) of Panama warned of an increase in cases of wildlife rescue.

MiAmbiente reported that only in the last week there has been the rescue of various species of fauna in various parts of the city of Panama and its surrounding areas that make up this region

"Clearly, it is the product of human intervention in pre-existing natural spaces," said MiAmbiente.

According to a report from the Biodiversity and Wildlife Section of the Metropolitan Regional Directorate of MiAmbiente, in the past week there was the rescue of two 2-clawed sloths located in Villa Lobos and Curundú, respectively, as well as a possum with their young and a capybara.

The entity pointed out that these species were evaluated by the veterinary specialists of the Biodiversity and Wildlife Section to later be relocated on various trails in the Camino de Cruces y Soberanía National Park.

He urged citizens to make reports for the rescue of these species to line 311, social networks and through the report web chat on the entity's website.
