The President of the Republic of Panama, Laurentino Cortizo, confirmed this Wednesday that the Minister of Commerce and Industries, Ramón Martínez, tested positive for COVID-19.
Martínez, who is an asymptomatic patient, will be in home isolation for the corresponding time to avoid the spread of the virus.
Likewise, he instructed his work team to carry out a preventive quarantine.
For several weeks the meetings of the Cabinet Council have taken place virtually.
To date, Panama registers more than 76,000 accumulated cases of the new
coronavirus. The authorities have made a call to abide by sanitary measures and to stay at home.
