The mayor of the capital district, José Luis Fábrega, was sanctioned, this Thursday, August 13, with a fine of $ 5,000 by the Regional Health of Panama West of the Ministry of Health (Minsa).
Kevin
Cedeño, Regional Director of Health, reported that the fine is for having breached Decree No. 869 that orders the curfew on weekends, from 7:00 pm on Friday to 5:00 am on Monday .
The maximum penalty was imposed as it was an authority, which failed to comply with the total quarantine, said
Cedeño.
Fabrega was caught on Saturday, August 1 on the beach in Coronado by members of the National Police and the justice of the peace, who also imposed a fine on him.
On that day, hours later the mayor issued a statement on his social networks where he assured that he was in front of his house when he followed the instructions of the authorities and that he had paid the fine.
What he did not say is that he would also be sanctioned by the
Minsa.
