Minsa: Heavy sanctions imposed on those organizing clandestine parties

The Deputy Minister of Health, Ivette Berrío, warned this Monday that exemplary sanctions will be applied to those who are responsible for carrying out festive activities in various sectors of the country, failing to comply with the measures in place to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
She explained that it is up to each regional director of the Ministry of Health (Minsa) to carry out investigations and apply the corresponding sanction, in order to prevent other citizens from engaging in this type of conduct.

Minsa has empowered each regional director of the country to assume the responsibility of initiating an investigation and defining responsibilities, since by identifying the person who is responsible for this type of parties and meetings, we will effectively sanction exemplarily to make a call to other areas of the country not to incur in these types of situations since they are putting many families at risk. We are going to take the appropriate measures regarding this type of meeting and each regional director will lead this investigation and decision-making, and we will support the decision they make, Berrío emphasized.

The official reiterated the call to the public to comply with the biosecurity measures that have been established and the recommendations, such as staying within the family bubble, physical distancing and the use of masks, in order to safeguard their health and that of their relatives.

We make a call, that is not against the Government, this situation is definitely against the people who live under the same roof, they are the first people who are put at risk, their parents, their grandparents, their older brothers, those are the people who are put at risk when you come out of a bubble, go to share with other people, are at parties, do not use a mask and much less keep their hands hygienic, touch their faces, share glasses, plates and other utensils, she stressed.
