La reapertura de las playas es un tema secundario para las autoridades

Minsa postpones the opening of the beaches for another week or within 15 days

The Minister of Health of Panama, Luis Francisco Sucre, announced in Chitré, Herrera, that the opening of the beaches will be postponed for a week or 15 days, in order to avoid the increase in COVID-19 cases in the country.
The opening of the beaches is really secondary for us, health is first. We are going to postpone the opening of the beaches for another week or in 15 days, see how the different figures behave. We have to take things calmly, said the minister.

Sucre said that the figures will be verified and try to keep the contagion at its lowest figures, and then think about reopening the beaches, but stressed that people will be able to go to their beach houses and that they remain in their family bubble.

The minister asked not to accept guests outside their bubble, not to have parties or have friends visit at home, because this facilitates access to the virus.

Sucre brought up that a study in Spain and in European countries where the reopening took place, visits to the beaches have been a source of contagion; and detailed that despite the fact that the use of masks is complied with, when they allowed other people access to their homes they relaxed and stopped using the masks and there they became infected.

The head of the Minsa indicated that he was in Herrera in view of the increase in infections that are occurring in this region of the country.
