Panama will share COVID-19 vaccination registry with other countries

The Ministry of Health reported that a technological tool is being developed through which Panama will share information on who received the COVID-19 vaccine and who did not.
The Ministry of Health (MoH) reported that Panama is working on developing a "technological tools" to inform other countries that citizens have received the vaccine against COVID-19 and who is not.

The tool will detail the type of vaccine the person received, how many doses, the batch number of the vaccine, and if they already had COVID-19.

"With this tool, Panama advances in the development of technologies so that Panamanians have security when traveling to other countries that request immunization," said Minsa.

The Authority for Government Innovation (AIG) is in charge of development. The National Passport Directorate, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Health are also part of this project.

"People who voluntarily decide not to be immunized and travel to countries that require vaccination will have to undergo quarantine restrictions, tests that certify that they are free of the virus, among other restrictions that different countries of the world require for the entry of foreigners" , warned the Minsa.

Several countries, including Panama, were analyzing the possibility of implementing a "health passport", which consists of a certificate that the holder who intends to travel to another country has already been immunized against COVID-19.
