Sinaproc warns of strong waves in the Pacific until Tuesday

Waves with heights of up to 2.0 meters and intervals of 18 seconds are expected in the Panamanian Pacific.
A warning of prevention for strong, frequent waves and rip currents in Panama, was issued this weekend by the National Civil Protection System (Sinaproc).

According to the Department of Hydrometeorology of Etesa, waves with heights of 2.0 meters and intervals of 18 to 20 seconds are expected in the Panamanian Pacific, until Tuesday, October 26.

This is a warning to rip current swimmers during times of rising and falling tides.

The areas under surveillance are the Gulf and Bay of Panama, Los Santos, Veraguas Sur, and the Gulf of Chiriquí.

Faced with this event, Sinaproc asks to abide by prevention measures:

- Avoid doing activities in coastal areas.
- If you are going to set sail in light boats, make sure you have personal flotation devices and communication radios in good condition.
- If you live near coastal areas, be aware of waves that can endanger your life and cause flooding.

Sinaproc urges the population to stay informed through official sources of any event that may be registered and to take preventive measures.
