Casco Antiguo de Panamá

Some streets in Casco Viejo will be partially closed as of September 28

Starting next Monday, September 28, partial closures will be implemented in some streets of the Casco Viejo (Old Town) and the Historic Center of Panama City.
The Land Transit and Transportation Authority (ATTT) reported that the closures will take place until October 11 from Monday to Saturday, in coordination with the National Directorate of Traffic Operations of the National Police (DNOT). As of October 12, the closings will take place from Tuesday to Sunday.

It indicates that among the roads that will be closed are 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, and Central Avenue between 1st to 10th street.

It adds that circulation will be guaranteed through Avenida A, Avenida B and Calle 9, and urges citizens to attend to the indications of the security forces, as well as the existing signs.

The statement details that after hours from 4:00 pm to 11:00 pm the roads must be clear; while the hours from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm will be enabled for loading and unloading operations.

These partial closures will be executed based on the provisions of Executive Decree No. 572 of September 10, 2020, which creates the Inter-institutional Commission for the improvement of the tourist experience of Casco Viejo and Historic Center of Panama City.
