Sucre pide apoyo de comerciantes; se mantienen medidas restrictivas en varias regiones

Sucre asks for support from merchants; restrictive measures are maintained in several regions

The Minister of Health, Luis Francisco Sucre, requested, this Tuesday, July 27, the support of all merchants in the country so that all biosecurity measures against Covid-19 are fulfilled.

In the conference of the Ministry of Health (Minsa), which is held every Tuesday, he pointed out that events such as those that occurred over the weekend in the Revolution PTY bar [which the authorities had closed], where there were customers and in other places, cannot be repeated. that the sanitary and biosafety regulations were violated, putting the lives of their clients and workers at risk, throwing away the sacrifice of others.

He expressed that the restrictive measures taken in recent weeks have allowed the decrease of cases in several provinces of the country, however in some sectors they increased due to the carrying out of uncontrolled activities such as burials, cockfights. Sucre recalled that in other countries where measures were relaxed, despite the sustained vaccination process, infections and deaths increased.

The Health Minister said that the Delta variant, which is more contagious and aggressive, proliferates more and more in neighboring countries and as Panama is a transit nation, its arrival in the country is eminent.

Restrictions

Sucre reported that in the Llano de Catival township, Mariato district, Veraguas province, there is a high number of Covid-19 cases. Given this situation, it has been decided that from next Monday, August 2, the curfew will be from 8 at night to 4 in the morning. He added that this district has 80% of Mariato's cases.

In the rest of the district the curfew is from midnight to 4 in the morning. Commercial premises must close at 11pm.

While in Los Santos , since Monday the lifting of the quarantine on Sundays in Macaracas is ordered and the mobility restriction is relaxed from 10 at night to 4 in the morning. For the rest of the districts, the measures established previously are maintained, added the minister.

On the district of Pesé, in the province of Herrera , the quarantine is lifted on Sundays and the curfew will be from 10 at night to 4 in the morning, since the cases of the new coronavirus have decreased. In Ocú the mobility restriction is maintained from 10 at night to 4 in the morning, so shops must close at 9 at night. In the rest of the province, they follow the measures already established.

The Health Minister pointed out that in Olá, Coclé province , the curfew is from midnight to 4 a.m., so establishments must close one hour before the restriction begins. The other districts maintain the provisions established above.

In the province of Panama Oeste , the ordered restrictions are maintained waiting for the number of Covid 19 cases to drop. Sucre asked the merchants to maintain biosecurity controls and warned that the health authorities of that region will carry out inspections in the establishments.

The curfew in San Miguelito is maintained from 10 at night to 4 in the morning. The minister said that in that region there are concerns about the case rates in the townships of Belisario Frías, Belisario Porras, Arnulfo Arias and Mateo Iturralde, where sanitary and biosafety measures must be redoubled.

Regarding Panama Metro , he said that the curfew is maintained from midnight to 4 in the morning, and asked that the guard not be lowered in shops, which must close at 11 at night.

He added that the slight increase in cases is observed with concern in the townships of San Felipe (Panama Metro) and Veracruz (Panama Oeste). It is important that these two townships reinforce their biosecurity measures, he said.
