Starting Monday, April 5, 2021, teachers residing in circuits 8-6, 8-10 and 8-1, will receive their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, as was approved this Monday in Operation PanaVac -19 headed by the president of Panama, Laurentino Cortizo.

The Executive Secretary of Operation Panavac-19 and Minister of Health, Dr. Eyra Ruiz, indicated that "in those three circuits whose vaccination will begin on April 5, there are around 8 thousand teachers who will also receive the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine."

In the vaccination register of 8-10, made up of the townships of Mañanitas, Pedregal, 24 de Diciembre, Las Garzas, Pacora, Tocumen and San Martín, a total of 33,222 residents over 60 years of age are registered, while in 8- 1 that comprises the district of Arraiján, there are 31,648 people over 60 years of age.

"As long as we have vaccines we must use them," Cortizo said.

During the meeting of Operation Panavac-19 this Monday, Eusebia Copete, Head of Nurses at the Minsa explained that they are prepared for vaccination in the three circuits and the teachers who reside there from the first week of April.

It should be noted that the decision was adopted after confirming that next Wednesday, April 7, Panama will have 135 thousand doses, the amount necessary to cover these three circuits, which is estimated at 125 thousand doses.
