The district of Cañazas heats up engines to celebrate its foundation on September 12

The Municipality of Cañazas will organize the first cultural, craft and agro-tourism fair. There will also be a flag contest that will represent this district.
On September 12, Cañazas will celebrate the 167th anniversary of the founding of this district.

With this objective, the Cañaceños organize the first Cultural, Craft, Agrotourism and Family Fair where Her Majesty Juleysi del Rosario Pérez Pineda acts as Miss September 11 and will decorate the party in this town of Veraguas.

According to historical data, Cañazas was founded on September 12, 1855, as documented by the Department of Fábrega (former province of Veraguas; as documented by Ernesto Castillero Calvo in his work El Estado Federal de Panamá). It was formed by the councils of Atalaya, Calobre, Cañazas, Mesa, Montijo, Palmas, Ponuga, Río de Jesús, San Francisco and Santiago.

It is important to point out that this town will celebrate its foundation for the first time, therefore, from now on, it will be a date marked on the calendar by the locals to continue celebrating.

It was reported that there will be two days of festivities where you can enjoy and have fun with your family the different folkloric presentations, organized by the September 12 Committee and the Municipality of Cañazas.

It is important to know that Cañazas is 45 minutes from the city of Santiago by private car, and by bus it would take an hour. The ticket only costs Bl /.2.00.

It should be noted that there is not only a fair event, but there are other reasons why you should visit this picturesque town. And it is there that you will find Cerro Viejo, Valle Encantado, El Chorro de los Panamaes, La Pantera agro-tourism farm, El Salto de Cañazas, located north of the Los Valles sector district, among other attractions.
