El Servicio Nacional de Migración detalla requisitos de entrada a Panamá

The Immigration announce entry requirements to Panama

Along the reactivation of international commercial aviation, the National Immigration Service of Panama announced this Monday the requirements that all national, resident or foreign persons who intend to enter the national territory must meet.

It indicates that, in addition to the requirements dictated in Executive Decree No. 1089 of September 23, 2020, as a State Security entity, the National Migration Service (SNM), will request tourists to allow their entry to Panama:

- Passport with a minimum validity of six months.
- Passage or ticket back to the country of origin or continuation of the trip.
- Tourist visa authorized as the case may be.
- Financial solvency of a minimum of $500.00, or its equivalent in credit card, bank reference, work letter or traveler's checks.
- He adds that after a previous interview, in some cases the inspector may request the payment voucher of the hotel where he will stay.

In the event that the person comes from a country that is allowed to enter with a stamped visa, the foreigner must apply for the visa at the Panamanian consulate and thus arrive in Panama with the visa already stamped in his passport.

On the other hand, it emphasizes the requirements to enter Panama established in Executive Decree No. 1089 , among which are:

Article 2. Any national, resident or foreign person who intends to enter the national territory, will present upon arrival in the country, the Certificate of Swab Test / PCR or negative antigen for COVID-19 , with a maximum of 48 hours and may enter the country without the need to comply with mandatory isolation, in turn complying with all biosecurity measures established by the Ministry of Health.

Article 3. Any national, resident or foreign person, who upon arrival in the country does not carry the Swab / PCR Test Certificate or negative antigen, as indicated in Article 2 of Executive Decree 1089, will have the obligation to perform a rapid test, prior to its registration in airport migration, which will be charged at the cost of the traveler, who must pay 50 dollars.

Depending on the result of the test, the following measures will be applied to the traveler:

- If the rapid test result is negative, you are exempt from mandatory isolation.
- If the swab / PCR or antigen test is positive, the person will go to mandatory isolation in a hospital hotel designated by the Ministry of Health. At seven (7) days you will have an antigen test. If the result is positive, you must complete the fourteen (14) day isolation and if the result is negative, your isolation ends.

The Immigration emphasizes that every traveler will have to undergo a rapid and highly sensitive test, regardless of those carried out abroad.
