‘La Roca’ Johnson es el actor mejor pagado de Hollywood por segundo año consecutivo

'The Rock' Johnson is Hollywood's highest-paid actor for the second year in a row

Dwayne The Rock Johnson became the highest paid actor in Hollywood for the second year in a row, according to the Forbes magazine.
The 48-year-old former professional wrestler earned $ 87.5 million in the annual cycle closed at the end of June 2020. Majority of his income came from Netflix.

Johnson earned little less than the $89.4 million he made in 2019, but comfortably higher than the second-place Ryan Reynolds $ 71.5 million. Johnson's big purse this year came from his next action movie on Netflix called Red Notice, as well as sponsorships.

Netflix issued more than a quarter of the paychecks collected by the top 10 on the Forbes list this year.

Others who benefited from the $140 million that the streaming giant invested were Reynolds ("Six Underground" and "Red Notice"), Mark Wahlberg ("Spenser Confidential"), who came in third place, and Ben Affleck ("The Last Thing He Wanted").

Perennial celebrities like Bollywood megastar (India) Akshay Kumar and martial arts legend Jackie Chan returned to the top 10, as did Will Smith (8th) and Adam Sandler (9).

This year the cast of the Marvel "Avengers" movies was absent, which dominated last year with the lucrative franchise taking a hiatus.

Vin Diesel, hub of the ever popular "Fast & Furious" franchise, returned to number five with $ 54 million in his pockets.

This year the creator of Latin origin of the musical “Hamilton”, Lin Manuel Miranda, made his debut in the ranking, who managed to place himself in seventh place with 45.5 million dollars.

Miranda, of Puerto Rican parents, made the list thanks to the $75 million Disney paid for the film rights to its acclaimed Broadway musical, which debuted on the Disney+ platform last month.

The ranking does not include the actresses, who will appear on a separate female list next month.

Here is the list of actors with the highest income:

1. Dwayne Johnson ($87.5 million)

2. Ryan Reynolds ($71.5 million)

3. Mark Wahlberg ($58 million)

4. Ben Affleck ($55 million)

5. Vin Diesel ($54 million)

6. Akshay Kumar ($48.5 million)

7. Lin-Manuel Miranda ($45.5 million)

8. Will Smith ($44.5 million)

9. Adam Sandler ($41 million)

10. Jackie Chan ($40 million)
