Those infected with the virus who are caught on the street will have their voucher suspended and will be fined

If you are infected with the new coronavirus and are taking to the streets, now you should think twice. Not only will you be fined, but you must also enter a hospital hotel and you will not be able to cash your voucher.

This was warned by the Minister of Health, Luis Francisco Sucre, this Friday, July 3, after saying that people infected with Covid-19 have been surprised in the lines of supermarkets and using the subway and the metro bus.

We made the decision that any person who is Covid-19 positive or is in quarantine and break the rules, will not be given their voucher and will be taken to hospital hotels on a mandatory basis, Sucre said.

He also said that in these cases their Panama Metro and Metro Bus cards will be suspended. The violators will even be sanctioned with a fine, but Sucre did not specify the amount.

Epidemiological report

In the last 24 hours, 31 new deaths and 758 cases of Covid-19 were registered, revealed the epidemiological report prepared by the Ministry of Health (Minsa).

The head of Epidemiology of the Minsa, Lourdes Moreno, announced that these figures raise deaths to 698 and the accumulated number of cases to 35,995.

Those recovered are 16,945 after 500 people who no longer have symptoms were added.

Moreno pointed out that in home isolation there are 17,383 people, of which 16,678 are at home and 705 in the so-called hospital hotels.

Regarding the number of hospitalized patients, he expressed that they are 969; in the ward 823 and 146 in intensive care units.

The tests carried out since coronavirus cases began in the country last March are 138,081 and of this amount 2,280 were applied in the last hours.

Of the total tests, 99,169 were negative and 38,912 positive.
