Those recovered from COVID-19 are recommended to apply both doses of the vaccine

Dr. Carlos Batista expressed "at this time, Pfizer and AstraZeneca vaccines are being applied, both doses are recommended" in recovered from COVID-19.
The Ministry of Health (Minsa) is recommending that people recovered from COVID-19 in Panama apply both doses of the vaccine, either from Pfizer or AstraZeneca.

Dr. Carlos Batista, Regional Health Director in East Panama reported that “at this time, Pfizer and AstraZeneca vaccines are being applied, both doses are recommended, with a minimum interval of 21 days or a month and in other cases up to 3 months to get the second dose, at the beginning priority was given to the groups with the highest risk due to the amount of vaccines that arrived in the country.”

He argued on RPC Radio that if there are people who initially only stayed with one dose after the optional recommendation not to miss the second, since the Covid-19 vaccine produces a better immune response in people recovered from this disease," now if they want to get it they can go to the established vaccination centers."

Regarding the procedures for travelers who wish to enter or leave Panama, Batista stated that it is being requested that people have the complete vaccination schedule (the two doses), “if not, a swab test is performed to verify if the person has or does not have COVID-19 at that time.”

It should be noted that in compliance with Executive Decree No. 816 regarding the requirements for travelers to some islands of Panama such as Taboga and Contadora, passengers must carry their vaccination cards with the application of their two doses, plus their swab test of COVID-19, negative. If the passengers when reporting their documents do not have the negative test, a private company on site at the traveler's expense applies the same to them, so that they can continue with their trip.

The Expanded Immunization Program (PAI) reported in its report on Wednesday that in Panama to date 3,217,064 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine from the pharmaceutical companies Pfizer and AstraZeneca have been applied.
