Tocumen Airport reports an increase in unacceptable travelers in transit

The Tocumen Airport reported that it registers between 50 and 100 unacceptable passengers in transit, and therefore, sent back to their countries of origin.
The Tocumen Airport reported an increase in the prolonged stays of passengers in transit that are inadmissible in their final destination countries in recent months.

The air terminal indicated that it registers between 50 and 100 unacceptable passengers in transit, and therefore, sent back to their countries of origin.

" It is the responsibility of the airlines that said inadmissible and in-transit passengers complete the return trip to their countries of origin and generally remain at the airport for less than 24 hours, " said Tocumen Airport.

However, the Tocumen Airport indicated that exceptionally some of the inadmissible passengers remain for long periods subject to the availability of connections or frequencies of the airlines or due to their own reluctance to return to their ports of origin, some have even tried to violate the controls immigration and security measures to prevent their return and illegally enter the country.

According to the Tocumen Airport, humanitarian assistance is offered in required cases open to the observation of the Ombudsman's Office, but legal mechanisms are also managed to avoid the prolonged stay of passengers.
