Twitter retira video publicado por Trump por desinformar sobre Covid-19

Twitter pulls a video posted by Trump for misinforming about Covid-19

Twitter withdrew a video posted by US President Donald Trump on Monday night, July 27, on the grounds that it spread false information about the new coronavirus, the social network reported on Tuesday.
The tweets with the video violate our disinformation policy on Covid-19, a spokesman told AFP, who declined to say how many people had accessed the video.

This video was also deleted by Facebook on Monday night, said a spokesperson for the leading social network. We have removed the video for sharing false information about cures and treatments for Covid-19," said a Facebook spokesperson.

The images show a group of doctors making false and misleading claims about the coronavirus pandemic. They say, for example, that masks are not necessary to stop the disease.

According to the Washington Post, more than 14 million people saw it through Facebook. Hours later, Trump tweeted multiple clips from the same video to his 84.2 million followers.

For half an hour, according to the American newspaper, the president also shared 14 tweets to defend the use of hydroxychloroquine, a drug that he has promoted on several occasions despite not having scientific support.

Twitter, Trump's main communication platform, has removed or tagged warnings questioning the content of several tweets by the president in recent weeks.

For example, on June 23, Twitter indicated with a Trump tweet that it “violated” the rules related to what it considers appropriate behavior, although it gave the possibility to read the tweet.
