El Senafront condujo a dueños y empleados de dos locales comerciales que estaban abiertos en esta zona

Two stores close in Paso Canoas for breaching restrictions and serving Costa Ricans

The National Border Service of Panama (Senafront) after a patrol through the border area of Paso Canoas caught several Costa Ricans buying in a Panamanian store amid the mobility restrictions implemented to mitigate the contagion of COVID-19.
The units of the Western Brigade, according to the entity, observed that the local Jerusalem Mall (Dutty Free) kept its premises open with more than 80 people inside, which was not complying with the total quarantine that is maintained at the national level.

These people were all of Costa Rican nationality and entered the Panamanian premises through the door that is located in our territory. The Ministry of Health, the municipality and the government, were immediately informed about the corresponding sanctions and procedures, the Senafront explained in a release.

The entity indicated that the operation will be maintained and they will not allow people outside the authorities to fail to comply with the measures decreed by the State.

Subsequently, deputy commissioner Jorge Gobea stated that two stores in this shopping center were closed for failing to Executive Decree 1684 and the owners of the shops were brought before the competent authorities to 8 employees of these.
