President Cortizo will travel to the US for the UN Assembly and meeting with investors

According to the Government, Cortizo's trip is made in order to "attract investment, reactivate Panama's economy and generate jobs."
The President of the Republic of Panama, Laurentino Cortizo , will travel to the United States this Monday to participate in the seventy-sixth regular session of the General Assembly of the United Nations (UN).

The president will also hold meetings with the president of the World Bank and directors of the most important and solid investment funds in the North American country.

This, in order to attract investment, reactivate the economy of Panama and generate jobs, according to the Ministry of the Presidency.

According to the agenda, the president will be on Tuesday, September 21 at the opening ceremony of the debate of the UN Ordinary Assembly. That same day, Cortizo, together with his delegation, will meet with the VISA group; and with the president of the World Bank, David Malpass, on the subregional office for Central America, located in Panama.

He will also meet on the 21st with various investment funds such as Notarc, Canada Pension Plan (CPP Fund), Brooksfield and KKR to discuss possible investments.

For his part, on Wednesday 22nd, Cortizo will meet with Marisol Argueta Senior Director, Responsible for Latin America, at the World Economic Forum; with the Libra Group on investments in energy, real estate, hotels, aviation, maritime transport; and will have the signing of the memorandum of understanding with Major League Baseball (MLB) to promote the sport in Latin America.

While on September 23, Cortizo, will give his official speech in the ordinary session of the UN General Assembly; and will meet with the CEO of Nasdaq and Fuel Venture.

The president will be accompanied by the first lady, Yazmín Colón de Cortizo, and a delegation made up of Erika Mouynes, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Ramón Martínez Minister of Commerce and Industries; José Alejandro Rojas Pardini, Minister Counselor for the Facilitation of Private Investment; and Juan Carlos Sosa, Vice Minister of Foreign Trade, Tourism Administrator Iván Eskildsen and Pandeportes Director Héctor Brands, among other officials, who will be back in Panama on Thursday night.
